Practical guide · English edition · October 2026

A tattoo quote starts with understanding the project.

There is no universal tattoo price. Your costs, style, experience and the work involved all matter.

1. Understand your actual costs

Account for premises, supplies, preparation time, hygiene, insurance, taxes and the time that is not spent tattooing. Review your numbers with an accountant.

2. Gather the details that affect the work

Placement, approximate size, style, references and existing tattoos help you understand the project. Photo-based size estimates need confirmation.

3. Explain the quote clearly

Explain what your quote covers, the expected work and the conditions that apply. Lya gathers information but never sets the price or decides feasibility.

4. Separate the deposit from payment tracking

Set your terms yourself and use your own payment methods. TattooDay records what you receive; it does not take tattoo money or a commission.

General information, not financial, accounting or legal advice. The artist determines the quote and should review contractual questions with a qualified adviser.

Talking about pricing

Can Lya give the client a price?
No. Lya clarifies the request; the professional reviews and quotes the project.
What should I gather before quoting?
Placement, approximate dimensions, style, references, expectations and any relevant project context. Ask for confirmation when information is uncertain.

Less time repeating questions, more context for your own quote.
